Epic saga crosses Rs. 500 cr. mark worldwide

Looks like the ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ mania isn’t going to stop anytime soon as the film breaches one record after another. While the Hindi dubbed version of the film has beaten the likes of ‘Baahubaali-The Conclusion’ ((Hindi), ‘Sanju’, and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ with the box office collection in the first three days (₹ 141.50 cr.), the original version too has created history through record opening it got on Day 1. Now, in this very vein, the latest reports reveal that the ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ (all versions) has crossed the ₹ 500 crore mark at the worldwide box office within a matter of four days!

As per the stats revealed by known trade pundits, ‘KGF 2’ has earned close to ₹ 550 crores in its opening four-day weekend. The makers had chosen to release the film on a Thursday, April 14th, to leverage a long weekend and the strategy is now paying rich dividends, making the film a global phenomenon. Another report states that the overseas business of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has reached the ₹ 100 cr mark ($13 million~) to make this one of the biggest box office successes to ever come out of Indian cinema.

The latest Comscore report for Worldwide Box Office for the April 15-17 weekend puts ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ in a super credible #2 spot and is only second to the recent Harry Potter spin-off ‘Fantastic Beast: The Secret of Dumbledore’. North America, Middle East, and Australia have contributed immensely to the overseas numbers with the film outdoing the Tamil release ‘Beast’ in ‘Malaysia’ as well.

As far as the Indian market is concerned, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is expected to have collected more than ₹ 180 cr. through its Hindi dubbed version and is forging on with similar intensity in all the other versions too. Reportedly, the Tamil Nadu box office alone has contributed over ₹ 42.5 cr and can be expected to maintain a similar performance in the coming days. More updates to follow soon.
